Worship Team Standards

We serve on the worship team to glorify God, bringing him honor and praise by planting the word of God into the hearts and minds of his people through song and art. Everything we do serves the church community by pointing them to Jesus with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs while faithfully preaching the gospel to the unbeliever.

We glorify God by teaching the Word faithfully to make disciples,

and loving others boldly by reaching them with gospel truth.

We accomplish this by engaging worshippers with vibrant gospel-centered art and song.

Values

Truth: Leading in all aspects by the Word of God

Beauty: Showcasing Christ’s person & work with simple excellence

Goodness: Displaying the grace of the gospel to make disciples of all people

Commitment & Expectations

  • Commitment - Must be a member or seeking membership of Southside Baptist Church.

  • Skills - Able to learn between 4 and 6 songs within a four-day period.

  • Frequent Home Practice - All music and lyrics should be learned before service. This frees us up to worship and lead others to worship during service.

  • Early Arrival - Must arrive 10 minutes before each scheduled service/rehearsal.

  • Flexibility - Willing to serve in whatever capacity is needed, i.e. vocalists serving as Tech personnel when necessary.

  • Involvement - Must strive to attend weekly Southside services and meetings.

  • Dress Code - We must dress in a way that does not distract or detract from the worship of God. Everything we do and wear should glorify God, not drawing attention to ourselves.

·       Conservative and modest dress is required.

·       The pastors reserve the right to ask you to change attire if you do not meet modesty requirements.

Equipment Requirements

All instrumentalists must have their own equipment. Some equipment is provided (drum set, cajon, and keyboard). However, you are required to have your own equipment at home to ensure you have what is needed to prepare for rehearsals and services.

All band members are required to have personal in-ear-monitors for all rehearsals and services. I recommend you buy one of the following from Amazon.com (keep in mind you get what you pay for and they are ranked best to worst in quality):

1.     Shure SE215, $99.

- Great monitors. Will last a long time.

2.     MEE audio M6 PRO 2nd Gen In-Ear Monitors, ~ $45.

- Best sounding for the money. Absolutely worth the investment.

3.     MEE audio M6 Memory Wire without mic, ~ $15.

- Good for beginners, but more than likely will need replacing within a year.

Audition Process (New Members)

1.     Complete the audition application, (required for all vocalists and instrumentalists).

2.     Prepare the required song for your audition (Instrumentalists pick from either):

a.     Guy Vocals:

Singing In The Victory by Austin Stone Worship

b.     Girl Vocals:

All I Have Is Christ by Sovereign Grace Music

3.     Email application to corey@southsidebrandon.org or hand-deliver to the church office.

4.     Audition with Corey at a scheduled time.

5.     Complete a two-month probation period that reveals your commitment and compatibility.

Refer to the table below for the Rehearsal & Service times you will be responsible for attending.
